Lumbini Buddhist University, August 10, 2026: The Master’s Degree by Dissertation (MDD) Program of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, Lumbini Buddhist University, held an online academic meeting on July 31, 2026, bringing together MDD scholars, supervisors, and members of the MDD Committee to review academic progress, share experiences and strengthen collaboration during the dissertation phase.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Manik Ratna Shakya, Vice-Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University and Chairman of the MDD Committee. Prof. Basanta Bidari, Member Secretary of the MDD Committee, MDD supervisors Mr. Manjeel Subedi, Dr. Kumar Khadka, and Mr. Sanjay Shakya, and MDD scholars Ms. Pai Ru Luh (Taiwan), Mr. Kohji Okhura (Japan), Mr. Zhao Wei (China) and Ms. Siew Pei Fung (Malaysia) also participated in the meeting.
The meeting provided an open platform for MDD scholars and supervisors to share their academic experiences, reflections, challenges, and constructive feedback. Their discussions highlighted the importance of closer academic collaboration, continued supervision and practical research support to facilitate the successful completion of dissertations and further academic development.

The session was welcomed and coordinated by Mr. Kamal Thapa, Assistant Lecturer and Coordinator of the MDD Program, who facilitated the interaction and emphasized the importance of sustained communication, collaboration and academic support among scholars, supervisors, and the MDD Committee.
The meeting marked another step toward building a collaborative, supportive, and research-oriented academic environment within the MDD Program, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening research quality and supporting scholars throughout their dissertation journey.
