LBU Fosters Educational and Cultural Ties in Collaborative Exchange with Chengdu Institute of World Affairs

On the morning of January 28, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Subarna Lal Bajracharya, accompanied by a delegation from Lumbini Buddhist University, paid a visit to the Chengdu Institute of World Affairs(CIWA) for a constructive dialogue with the CIWA team and local experts.

The Lumbini Buddhist University delegation comprised Registrar Dr. Tilak Ram Acharya, Associate Professor Dr. Sagar Neupane, and Software Engineer Mr. Rabin Panthi.

The meeting presided over by Deputy Secretary-General Dr. Wang Xiaoying, featured the participation of various dignitaries, including Professor Long Xingchun, President of the CIWA, Mr. Chen Hongqiang, Deputy Secretary-General, Associate Professor Wang Ronghong, Mr. Zhang Renwen, Vice Presidents of the CIWA, Dr. Wang Yuan, Secretary-General, and Deputy Secretary-General Dr. Wang Xiaoying, who introduced the participants.

Founder and President Long Xingchun provided an overview of the Chengdu Institute of World Affairs and its ongoing exchanges with Nepal, expressing the institute’s willingness to support collaboration between China, particularly the Sichuan and Chongqing regions, and Nepal in areas such as economics, trade, humanities, and education.

Professor Subarna Lal Bajracharya acknowledged the longstanding history of China-Nepal exchanges and emphasized the immense potential for cooperation. Lumbini Buddhist University expressed its eagerness to strengthen ties with Chinese universities, extending a warm welcome to Chinese scholars and members of the Buddhist community for mutual visits and exchanges.

The discussions between the two sides encompassed a range of topics, including the current international situation, South Asian issues, China-Nepal bilateral cooperation, and exchanges related to Buddhist culture. The dialogue aimed to foster a deeper understanding and collaboration between Lumbini Buddhist University and the Chengdu Institute of World Affairs(CIWA), contributing to the broader cooperation between Nepal and China
