Prof. Alexander Schieffer and Dr. Rama Mani Visit Lumbini Buddhist University

Lumbini, January 31, 2025 – Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) had the honor of welcoming Prof. Alexander Schieffer and Dr. Rama Mani, the co-founders of the Home for Humanity Movement for Human Flourishing and Planetary Regeneration. They are also the co-initiators of the One Home Journey 2024-2030 – a seven-year initiative dedicated to creating sustainable solutions for future generations.

The distinguished guests were warmly received by Prof. Dr. Gitu Giri, Director of the Research Center at LBU. The visit provided an insightful platform for discussion, where Prof. Schieffer and Dr. Mani elaborated on their global initiative to an esteemed gathering, including Rajendra Ghimire, Coordinator of the Center for International Relations, Churamani Pokhrel, Chief of Administration, and various faculty members and staff. The session focused on the movement’s core philosophy of fostering planetary regeneration and collective human well-being.

As a symbolic gesture of commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation, Prof. Schieffer and Dr. Mani planted a tree in the backyard of the university’s central office. This act reinforced the importance of ecological responsibility and mindful co-existence with nature.

Following the session, the visiting scholars toured the central campus, gaining insights into LBU’s academic and cultural environment. They also paid homage to the sacred relic of Lord Buddha enshrined in the Prajna Stupa, honoring the university’s deep-rooted connection to Buddhist philosophy and heritage.

LBU remains committed to fostering international collaborations that align with its vision of education, research, and sustainable development. The visit by Prof. Schieffer and Dr. Mani marks a significant step in promoting global discourse on human and planetary well-being.
