The content in the book cover the history of sacred places like Chorten and Chaitya in the Easter Mountain region of Nepal, especially Koshi Province. The authors of the book are mostly connected to Buddhist sects and monasteries, including Lumbini Buddhist University. Field observation, interview and literary sources have used in course of writing each articles in it. It talks about monasteries in Nepal that haven’t been mentioned before. Buddhist art, architecture, regular and occasional sacred performances have also described.

It contains 89 pictures of the Buddhist monasteries, gumba, painting, art and architecture at the end. Seventeen authors have written articles on their native villages and sacred sites, who are familiar with their religious activities from birth. They talk about the heritage and culture where they were born and also suggest ways to protect these Buddhist areas. The book collects and studies words used in the Himalayan region to add to the Nepali vocabulary.
