MDD Program: First Intake, First Defense Completed Successfully

Lumbini Buddhist University, Faculty of Buddhist Studies is proud to announce the successful completion of the first Research Proposal Defense of the Master’s Degree by Dissertation (MDD) program for the Academic Year 2025/2026. This inaugural defense marks a significant milestone for the newly launched program.

The defense was presented by Mr. Kohji Okhura, Japan, on the topic: “Nichiren Daishonin’s Contribution to Global Security and the Transformative Power of Rissho Ankoku: A Historical and Doctrinal Analysis.”

The session included valuable feedback from the External Supervisor, Dr. Arvinda Kumar Singh, Associate Professor & ICCR Chair, LBU, final remarks by the Dean, Dr. Manik Ratna Shakya, and was coordinated by Assistant Lecturer Mr. Kamal Thapa, MDD Coordinator.

Following thorough discussion, the defense committee approved the proposal with meaningful corrections. The faculty extends appreciation to all involved for their support. Defenses for the remaining MDD students will be scheduled soon in accordance with the academic calendar.
