The Faculty of Buddhist Studies, Lumbini Buddhist University, successfully organized the ‘MDD Program: Tuition Wrap-Up and Supervisor Assignment’ on 21st September 2025 via the Zoom platform.
The formal program commenced at 6:30 PM with Welcome Remarks by Mr. ManjeelSubedi, Assistant Professor. This was followed by reflections and experience sharing from MDD scholars and students, where they highlighted their academic journey and insights from the tuition classes. Their presentations reflected enthusiasm and readiness to advance towards their dissertation phase.

A major highlight of the program was the official announcement of supervisors by Dr. Manik Ratna Shakya, Dean of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies. The respective assignments were made as follows: Mr. Beh Chun How (Malaysia) and Mr. Kohji Okhura (Japan) were assigned to Dr. Manik Ratna Shakya; Ms. Pai Ru Luh (Taiwan) to Asst. Prof. Mr. Sanjay Shakya; Mr. Zhao Wei (China) to Dr. Kumar Khadka; and Ms. Siew Pei Fung (Malaysia) to Asst. Prof. Mr. Manjeel Subedi. Special remarks were delivered by Prof. Mr. Basanta Bidari, who encouraged the scholars to maintain dedication and academic integrity in their research work.

The event concluded with closing remarks from the Dean, Faculty of Buddhist Studies, who emphasized the importance of guidance, scholarly discipline, and steady progress in the MDD journey. The program was coordinated by Mr. Kamal Thapa, Assistant Lecturer and Coordinator of the MDD Program. Organized by the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, the event marked an important milestone as MDD scholars move forward in article writing and dissertation research under the guidance of their assigned supervisors.
