Lumbini Buddhist University and Xiamen University Strengthen Ties through Academic Collaboration

In a significant step towards fostering international academic cooperation, a delegation from Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) visited Xiamen University in China on July 3, 2024. The delegation, led by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Subarna Lal Bajracharya, engaged in an extensive academic meeting with their counterparts at Xiamen University. The meeting focused on establishing formal relations and exploring various avenues for collaboration.


Key Agendas of the Meeting:

  1. Establish Formal Relations: Both institutions agreed on the importance of establishing a formal relationship to facilitate future collaborations.
  2. Contribute from Citizens to State Level through Academic Collaboration: Emphasizing the role of academia in fostering strong ties between citizens and the state, the discussion highlighted the potential impact of such collaborations on both communities.
  3. Cooperation in Short-Term to Long-Term Courses: The meeting explored possibilities for cooperation in short-term and long-term courses, including faculty exchange, student exchange, and dual degree programs.
  4. Academic Programs in International Relations and Philosophy: The discussion also focused on potential cooperation in academic programs, particularly in the fields of international relations and philosophy.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Subarna Lal Bajracharya and the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at Xiamen University, along with the Head of International Affairs, agreed to sign a formal academic collaboration agreement in the near future. This agreement is expected to pave the way for numerous collaborative initiatives between the two universities.
