Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) and the University of the West (UWEST) have formalized a significant partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering academic cooperation and cultural exchange. The agreement was signed on December 13, 2024, symbolizing the shared commitment of both universities to promote mutual growth in higher education.
This MoU marks a milestone in strengthening international collaboration between LBU and UWEST. The partnership will facilitate direct contact and cooperation between faculties, students, administrative staff, departments, and research institutions of both universities. Key areas of collaboration under this MoU include: Student Exchange Programs, Faculty and Staff Exchanges, Joint Research Initiatives and
Academic and Cultural Activities.
This agreement aligns with LBU’s vision of expanding its global network and UWEST’s mission to promote cross-cultural understanding through education. The MoU is expected to pave the way for long-term cooperation and enrich the academic and cultural experiences of all participants.
LBU’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Subarna Lal Bajracharya, emphasized the importance of such partnerships in strengthening the university’s international outreach. Similarly, President of the UWEST Dr . Minh-Hoa Ta expressed enthusiasm about the opportunities this collaboration brings for both institutions.
