LBU Inaugurates Devdaha Office, Embarks on 1 Kharba Rupees Infrastructure Project

Lumbini Buddhist University is gearing up for a significant milestone in educational infrastructure development in Devdaha, with projects valued at around 1 kharba. At the inauguration ceremony of the Devdaha Office building on Monday, university officials highlighted the importance of this initiative for academic and administrative growth.

While inaugurating the building, former deputy prime minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel emphasized that Lumbini Buddhist University is poised to become a global educational center for Buddhist philosophy. He stressed the government’s role in supporting academic development and the university’s efforts to operate without liabilities through amendments to its Act.

The university plans to establish a model higher education center, with the Devdaha project symbolizing a crucial step in academic expansion. The billion-dollar project aims to create a state-of-the-art educational hub, attracting scholars and students worldwide.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Suvarna Lal Bajracharya outlined the ambitious plans, including the construction of facilities for a thousand students, along with infrastructure for production-oriented education benefiting both locals and international students.

Registrar Dr. Tilakram Acharya highlighted the university’s strategic vision to develop Lumbini, Devdaha, and Butwal as key educational centers over the next eight years. The project includes a comprehensive range of educational facilities, from schools to research centers, museums, and guest accommodations.

The university is actively raising resources with the support of donors and agencies committed to promoting education and attracting foreign students to Nepal. The completion of this monumental project in Devdaha is expected to enhance the university’s academic offerings and global reputation significantly.

With infrastructure development progressing ahead of schedule, Lumbini Buddhist University is poised to transform Devdaha into a vibrant educational village and a beacon for Buddhist culture and education.
