His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin Visits Lumbini Buddhist University

Lumbini, December 8, 2024 – His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin, Gongma Trichen Rinpoche, made a historic visit to Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) today. The central office of LBU was abuzz with excitement as faculty members, staff, and students gathered to welcome the esteemed Buddhist master.

Dr. Manik Ratna Shakya, Dean of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, along with other faculty members and administrative staff, extended a warm reception to His Holiness. Dr. Nyima Sherpa, Head of the Department of Bhot Buddhist Studies, provided an overview of the courses offered by the department, highlighting their focus on preserving and disseminating Buddhist teachings. Dr. Manik Ratna Shakya further elaborated on the university’s broader mission and ongoing initiatives to promote Buddhist education and research.

During his visit, His Holiness shared profound insights into Buddhist philosophy, emphasizing the relevance of compassion, mindfulness, and wisdom in contemporary life. He inspired the attendees to incorporate Buddhist teachings into their daily practices for personal and societal well-being.
