Faculty of Buddhist Studies Hosts Lecture on “Transformation Through Tantra”

The Faculty of Buddhist Studies proudly hosted an insightful lecture titled “Transformation Through Tantra,” emphasizing the profound impact of Tantra on spiritual development. The event featured prominent speakers and was attended by a diverse audience, including scholars, students, and spiritual enthusiasts.


Dr. Manik Ratan Sakya’s Opening Speech :

Dr. Manik Ratan Sakya, a respected academic in Buddhist studies, inaugurated the event with a warm welcome. He expressed gratitude to the visiting Indian scholar, Ms. Nila Anandani (Amma), and highlighted the significance of Tantra in Buddhist traditions. Dr. Manik Ratan Sakya emphasized that Tantra integrates the body, mind, and spirit, facilitating holistic spiritual growth. He elaborated on the four types of controls in Buddhist Tantra: Kriya, Charya, Yoga, and Anuttarayoga Tantra, noting their unique roles in spiritual practices.


Keynote Address by Ms. Nila Anandani :

Ms. Nila Anandani, a renowned expert in Tantra from India, delivered an engaging keynote address. She shared her journey and deep connection to the teachings of Tantra, underscoring its foundational principle of expansion and awareness through the five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. Nila Amma emphasized the enduring presence of these elements, urging attendees to cultivate a deeper connection with them for spiritual transformation.

She shared personal anecdotes and historical references, including her family’s ties to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Nila Amma discussed the significance of holistic education in fostering wisdom and peace, praising the university’s efforts in this regard.


Deep Dive into Tantra Practices :

Nila Amma delved into the practical aspects of Tantra, discussing the integration of Yantra (body), Mantra (speech), and the mind. She illustrated how focused meditation on these elements can lead to heightened awareness and spiritual enlightenment.
