Lumbini, 21 May 2025 –
In a remarkable gesture of international academic collaboration, Professor Brian McAdoo and a group of students from Duke University, USA, visited Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) for an interactive exchange program.

The visiting team participated in a thoughtful academic session with LBU faculty including:
- Dr. Nyima Sherpa (Head of Department, Bhot Buddhist Studies)
- Assistant Professor Prem Chaudhary (Siri Vajira)
- Assistant Professor Dayanidhi Gautam (Acharya Dayanidhi)
- Lecturer Sanjay Shakya

Discussions ranged from Buddhist philosophy and local cultural traditions to environmental concerns and spiritual approaches to peace and sustainability. The session offered students a unique opportunity to engage with the rich intellectual and cultural heritage of Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.

The visit was part of a broader effort to promote global learning and mutual understanding through academic dialogue. Faculty members and students from both institutions expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to exchange knowledge and perspectives.
The Center for International Relations at LBU facilitated the visit and expressed hope for continued partnerships with international universities.
