Lumbini, May 3, 2025 — Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal, Rt. Hon. Sapana Pradhan Malla, visited Lumbini Buddhist University on the occasion of the 1st National Moot Court Competition organized by the School of Law at LBU.

The event brought together esteemed members of Nepal’s legal and political fraternity. Among the dignitaries present were the Speaker of the Lumbini Province Assembly Hon. Tularam Gharti Magar, President of the Nepal Bar Association Senior Advocate Bijaya Prasad Mishra, Justices of the High Court Tulsipur, and Justices from various District Courts, along with other distinguished delegates.

Guests were welcomed by Dr. Tilak Ram Acharya, Acting Vice Chancellor and Registrar of Lumbini Buddhist University, who expressed gratitude for their participation and encouragement to the students.
The Moot Court Competition aimed to foster legal research, advocacy skills, and analytical reasoning among law students. After intense rounds of argumentation and legal debate, Kathmandu School of Law emerged as the winner, while the Lumbini Buddhist University School of Law secured the runner-up position.

In her keynote remarks, Chief Justice Malla underlined the significance of moot court competitions in preparing the next generation of legal professionals. She emphasized that such platforms enhance critical thinking, legal interpretation, and the ability to uphold justice in a democratic society.

The event marked a significant milestone for Lumbini Buddhist University’s School of Law, setting the stage for continued engagement in advancing legal scholarship and practice in Nepal.
