Lumbini Buddhist University, in collaboration with its esteemed partners, is pleased to announce an International Seminar scheduled for May 4th and 5th, 2024, at Lumbini Buddhist University, Lumbini, Nepal.
The seminar aims to address pressing questions concerning the role of Buddhist education in tackling contemporary global challenges. We invite scholars, educators, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to contribute their insights and expertise to this important discourse.
Key themes and questions to be explored include:
What forms of Buddhist education are essential in addressing contemporary global challenges?
How can Lumbini Buddhist University contribute to disseminating such education?
What types of courses are expected by people around the world?
Participants are encouraged to submit papers that critically engage with these themes and offer innovative perspectives, empirical research, case studies, and theoretical frameworks.
Submissions may address, but are not limited to, the following topics:
The relevance of Buddhist teachings in addressing environmental sustainability, social justice, conflict resolution, and other pressing global issues.
Pedagogical approaches and methodologies for integrating Buddhist principles into contemporary educational curricula.
Case studies of successful Buddhist educational initiatives and programs from around the world.
The role of technology in disseminating Buddhist education to a global audience.
Strategies for fostering intercultural dialogue and understanding through Buddhist education.
Challenges and opportunities in implementing Buddhist education in diverse cultural contexts.
Accepted papers will be presented during the seminar sessions, providing opportunities for fruitful discussion and exchange among participants. Selected papers may also be considered for publication in a special issue of a reputable academic journal.

Abstracts should not exceed 300 words and must include the title of the paper, author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), and contact information.
Full papers should be submitted by April 20 and should adhere to the specified formatting guidelines.
