During their visit from May 10th to 12th, the delegation held meetings with various representatives from the Shanghai University Of Political Science and Law. On May 10th, they met with Pan Mutian, Deputy Secretary of the school’s party committee, and discussed the cooperative construction of the Confucius Institute, the “2+2” project for Nepalese students to study in Shanghai University, and the recruitment center for South Asian students. The meeting was attended by Ouyang Meihe, director of the International Exchange Office, and other officials from different departments.
On May 11th, the delegation met with Luo Ligang, Vice President of Shanghai University Of Political Science and Law, who welcomed their visit and introduced the discipline construction and foreign cooperation of the school. The delegation expressed their gratitude for the warm reception and provided an overview of Lumbini Buddhist University’s history, academic programs, and discipline construction. Both sides expressed their desire to enhance exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.
During their visit, the delegation also toured various facilities at Shanghai University, including the SCO base, documentary school studio, moot court, student activity center, and library. Kumar Khadka delivered a lecture titled “Chinese Classics Spread in South Asia and Their Characteristics” to the teachers and students of Shanghai University.
On May 12th, the delegation visited the School of Language and Culture (School of International Exchange) for an exchange discussion, focusing on topics such as the cultivation of international students, mutual visits between teachers and students, and Chinese language learning.

The delegation greatly values the opportunity to engage in fruitful discussions and explore potential areas of collaboration between the two universities.

The delegation from Lumbini Buddhist University looks forward to further strengthening the ties between the two institutions and fostering collaborative initiatives in areas such as the Confucius Institute, student exchange programs, and academic research. They believe that through continued cooperation, both universities can contribute to the advancement of education, cultural understanding, and bilateral relations between China and Nepal.
