We are delighted to present the fourth issue of Prajñā, our distinguished educational journal, in conjunction with the International Seminar hosted by the Faculty of Buddhist Studies at Lumbini Buddhist University on May 4-5, 2024. This volume is a remarkable collection of scholarly articles drawn from Ph.D. theses submitted to our institution. The contributions, available in both Nepali and English, explore a rich array of topics including core and applied Buddhism, Buddhist culture, art, literature, history, and philosophy.
As we navigate this pivotal moment for our university, this seminar offers a unique opportunity to deepen our understanding of Buddhist education and its relevance in addressing global challenges. The insights presented in this issue are intended not only to advance academic knowledge but also to contribute meaningfully to contemporary discussions.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the creation of this journal. Special appreciation goes to the authors for their rigorous research and insightful contributions, to Sanjay Shakya for his meticulous article reviews, and to Salik Ram Bhusal for his exceptional journal design. Our gratitude also goes to Laxman Pokhrel, Ramesh Panthi, and the dedicated staff from the dean’s office—Kabir Shakya, Neshan Shrestha, Puskar Gyawali, and Niru Gautam—whose support has been crucial in bringing this publication to fruition.
We hope this volume of Prajñā serves as a valuable platform for dialogue, reflection, and further exploration of Buddhist education, highlighting its profound significance in today’s world.
