The rich tradition of practicing and following Buddha’s teachings has flourished in Nepal since ancient times, creating a diverse and vibrant Buddhist heritage. Lumbini Buddhist University was established to provide high-level study and research in various fields of Buddhist studies, including philosophy, history, and literature. LBU aims to integrate traditional Buddhist studies into mainstream academia and promote scholarly research.
In continuation of its mission, LBU publishes the journal “Lumbinī Prabhā” annually on Buddha Jayanti. The second issue features 26 articles covering Buddhist history, philosophy, literature, art, applied wisdom, culture, and other Buddhist genres. It also includes information about the university’s academic activities, curriculum, and contributing scholars.
The journal adopts a citation system to ensure authenticity and reliability, with footnotes and reference lists for consistency. The views expressed are those of the authors. The publication is a collaborative effort, with special thanks to the campus officials, staff, and contributors.
“Lumbinī Prabhā” supports scholarly research and highlights LBU’s academic endeavors. It is hoped that this journal will continue to be a valuable resource for students, scholars, and researchers in Buddhist studies.
