Buddha’s four principles of Truth, Eightfold Path, Panchasheel, Paramita etc. are still relevant in the twenty-first century. Buddha’s teachings and philosophy are proved to be useful for peace even in the Western societies, which are suffering from the effects of war. Based on utilitarianism, Buddhist philosophy has become a practical and scientific basis for householders as well. In such a situation, Buddhist philosophy is a pillar for restraint, hard work, virtue, happiness, prosperity, good governance and peace. An attempt has been made to write it in a simple and clear language so that common people can understand it easily. In addition to contemporary aspects of Gautama Buddha’s biography, sermons, and philosophy, introductions to Krakuchanda Buddha and Kanakmuni Buddha are also presented in the book. This book will be proved to be worthy if the general public is informed about the merits of the Buddhas and his teachings. This book, authored by Indra Prasad Kafle and Dayanidhi Gautam from Lumbini Buddhist University, was developed as part of a project commissioned by the Government of Nepal, Province 5, Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest, and Environment.
