Dr. Sagar Neupane is a distinguished medical professional, academician, and international scholar with extensive expertise in clinical medicine, oncology research, and Nepal–China academic cooperation. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Medicine at Lumbini Buddhist University and is also associated with Lumbini Provincial Hospital as a Medical Officer and General Physician.
With strong academic and professional exposure in both Nepal and China, Dr. Neupane has contributed significantly to clinical research, higher education, public health, and international collaboration. His research interests include oncology, gastrointestinal cancers, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), laparoscopic cancer treatment, and disaster medicine. He has actively participated in and presented papers at numerous international academic conferences and forums in China focusing on medicine, development policy, cultural relations, and trans-Himalayan cooperation.
Dr. Neupane is widely recognized for his contribution to strengthening Nepal–China educational, cultural, and academic relations. He has served in various prestigious roles including Honorary Goodwill Ambassador of Lumbini Development Trust, Visiting Professor at universities in China, and Chinese Language and Culture Expert at Lumbini Buddhist University. He has also coordinated several high-level governmental and academic delegations between Nepal and China.
Fluent in Nepali, English, and Chinese, Dr. Neupane possesses excellent communication, translation, and intercultural coordination skills. Alongside his medical profession, he remains deeply engaged in academic leadership, scientific development, international collaboration, and the promotion of Buddhist and cultural diplomacy.
