Biography

Bal Bahadur Pandey is a dedicated lecturer who believes that the role of a university is not only to impart existing knowledge but also to develop new theories and refine existing ones. His academic journey and teaching career are fueled by a deep passion for education and a desire to contribute to the academic independence of Nepal.

He recognizes that without refining the unique perspectives rooted in Nepalese soil, achieving true academic autonomy is impossible. Bal Bahadur is deeply inspired by the philosophical insights of Buddha, particularly in the context of Nepalese society, its unique economic conditions, political systems, and governance structures. He sees the university as a platform that can nurture educated individuals in the profound field of philosophy, promoting Buddhist philosophy as a distinct discipline of Nepal through rigorous study and research.

Beyond his teaching roles, Mr. Pandey has contributed significantly to social development and media:
  • Social Development Officer at District Development Committee’s Office, Mangalsen Achham
  • Project Coordinator for Kapilvastu Integrated WASH Improvement Project, Kapilvastu
  • Solid Waste and Sanitation Management Project, Rupandehi
  • Station Manager at Lumbini Community Television, Butwal

Workshops and Training:

Mr. Pandey has actively participated in various professional development activities:
  • Research Methodology, Academic Writing, and Semester System Workshop (TU, 2015)
  • Curriculum Refresher Workshop (TU/UGC, 2017/2019)
  • Numerous national and international workshops, seminars, and training sessions conducted by Lumbini Buddhist University
  • Faculty Enhancement Training, 2024 ( UGC/LBU)

Research

  • Mr. Pandey conducted an ethnographic study titled “An Ethnographic Study of Tharu People: A Study of Baijalpur Village, Kapilvastu, Nepal” in 2008.
