Biography

Nir Bahadur Gurung is an esteemed Associate Professor at Lumbini Buddhist University, renowned for his expertise in Buddhist Studies and Sociology. His academic journey is marked by a dedication to interdisciplinary learning, with qualifications spanning management, Buddhist studies, and sociology. 

Mr. Gurung’s educational background reflects a commitment to understanding human behavior, societal structures, and spiritual principles. His Bachelor’s Degree in Management laid the groundwork for his understanding of organizational dynamics, while his Post Graduate Diploma and Master’s Degrees in Buddhist Studies deepened his knowledge of Buddhist philosophy, ethics, and practices. 

Furthermore, his Master’s Degree in Sociology equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of social systems, cultural dynamics, and human interactions. This interdisciplinary approach enriches his teaching and research, allowing him to explore the intersection of Buddhist principles with contemporary societal issues. 

Mr. Gurung’s journey at Lumbini Buddhist University began in 2071 when he was appointed as a Teaching Assistant. Through his dedication to teaching and scholarship, he rose through the ranks and was eventually appointed as an Associate Professor. His contributions to the university extend beyond teaching, as he also serves as the Central Campus Principal, demonstrating his leadership and administrative capabilities. 

As an Associate Professor, Mr. Gurung is committed to fostering a dynamic learning environment where students can explore the depth and breadth of Buddhist philosophy and its relevance to contemporary society. His interdisciplinary approach encourages critical thinking, compassionate inquiry, and a holistic understanding of human existence.
