The Bachelor’s Degree in Travel and Tourism Management with Honors in Buddhism is a four-year full-time semester system course designed to produce professional human resources for the dynamically growing travel and tourism sector in Nepal. It is an interdisciplinary program that combines Travel, Tourism, and Management along with the basic History and Philosophy of Buddhism. Under the Travel and Tourism program, candidates are given deep knowledge of Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, Adventure, Cargo, Ticketing, GDS, etc. Similarly, the Management program is specialized in Economics, Finance, Accountancy, Marketing, etc. Understanding the power of language, Chinese and English are taught as functional papers. Another exciting part of this program is Buddhism, which enriches students with Buddhist Philosophy and History that is one of the bases of Nepalese tourism

Application form along with prospectus can be obtained from the office of LBU on payment of Rs.500/- via esewa. Application cum Prospectus may also be downloaded from the university website (www.lbu.edu.np). The duly filled-in online application form and provide the required documents to the college office in person during admission.

SYSTEM OF EXAMINATION

Internal Evaluation

Each course carries 100 evaluation marks, out of which the final examination carries 60 marks (60 percent) and the internal examination carries 40 marks (40 percent). The subject teacher will be responsible for conducting the internal assessment of students. The Academic Council has recommended the following assignment structure as a guideline for internal assignments and evaluation. The scheme does not apply to field study, internship, and another practical and experimental type of courses.

  • Attendance

External Examination

Sixty percent of students’ marks or grades will come from an external exam, which will be conducted by the Office of Examinations Controller. Details about the exam will be provided by the program administration later.

*Note: Students must have 80% attendance in each semester and must secure at least 50% marks in internal evaluation in order to sit for external examination.

TEACHING PEDAGOGY AND METHOD

BTTM program offers comprehensive and invaluable exposure to all aspects of tourism. Innovative techniques like specified lectures, case studies, group discussions, problem-solving exercises, visual interpretation, guest lectures, practical work, and field visits are used for effective teaching and learning activities.
